End of October...

Can't believe I haven't posted since before my kids' birthdays. The kids all had wonderful birthdays. We really appreciate the outpouring of love from our family and friends. The plan was to go to Disney to be away for their birthday weekend due to it being difficult not having Anna here with us. We really enjoyed our time at Disney (rain and all) and ended up getting annual passes! We also had the girls' best friends over for a spa day so they got to celebrate with friends. Then, on Joshua's birthday we had a playdate so he also got to celebrate with friends! They are very blessed to have so much love around them!

So much has happened between then and now. Nelson is now also working as a special needs trust associate for Family Network on Disabilities. He traveled to Miami this week for a conference, and has already brought special needs trusts to FND. He feels really good doing something that helps others, but has so so much on his plate. He is still doing real estate full time, but having the market the way it is he is grateful for this new opportunity. It's been different for me because I'm not used to having him gone so much. We are very much a partnership in everything so having more on my plate too has been an adjustment.

Mikayla got her first shiner! My sweet girl got a black eye as she was going to the writing center and tripped in class and hit a table full force about 1/2 an inch from her eye! It was so scary getting that call and hearing her poor eye was swollen. It's been a week and it's almost completely healed!

Tomorrow will be three years since we lost our pmp baby. I remember Anna coming over after my D&C and I was in pajamas, my face red from crying and feeling absolutely broken, and Nelson let her in and she joined me on the couch under the covers and just held me. It's truly something a best friend does. Anna was always there when I needed her. I miss her more than words will ever be able to express. We are hoping to go to Disney tomorrow, but rain is in the forecast, so we might wait until next week. We seem to always head to Disney when there is sadness...I guess the mouse house truly is the happiest place on earth for us ;). The girls seem certain we will meet a baby girl when we go to heaven. I'm so ready to find out if they are right and embrace Anna again. Don't get me wrong, I hope to see my kids grow and meet my grandkids and great grandchildren, but if God has other plans I'm ready. I never could have said that before Anna's passing. I was always somewhat afraid of the unknown and leaving before I was ready to, but now, now I know who I have waiting for me.

Already October!

Time seems to be going too quickly. The girls will be SIX in six days!! We celebrated with their best friends yesterday. I can't believe how much they have grown! They can tie their shoes now, tell you their phone number and address, have a bunch of sight words under their belt, and are amazing me with everything lately.

Today I had the pleasure of joining their class for their first in-class field trip. We were suppossed to go to the fire station, but something came up with the firefighters and they had to come to the school instead. The kids got to spray the hose, and go in the fire truck, and learn about when to call 9-1-1. It was fun to see how they interact in their class. Mikayla is such a busy body, and has a hard time being still, and Brianna is quiet, reserved and soaks everything in. It's so interesting. I don't feel like Brianna was so quiet six months ago. I feel like her losing her Godmother has put this sadness around her that I am really really trying to work on. It's so hard though when every time I bring up Anna to her I end up in tears. It'll be six months tomorrow...and I'm praying that my girl and I get strength from the Lord for the days/weeks/months/years ahead.

My baby boy turns two on Thursday! Seriously, slow down, time!! We leave Friday for our weekend at Disney! I can't wait to celebrate my three amazing blessings. I'm so grateful to be their Mom.
