Orientation!!

Today was the girls' Kindergarten Orientation. How did 5 years fly by so quickly and my babies became school aged? I don't know their teacher yet, but all the K teachers spoke this morning, and we were told their schedule, expectations, and even got their supply list! All the teachers seem really great. The orientation was just for parents. The girls will meet their teacher the week of August 12th!

I walked in and someone called my name, and it's a friend of mine who has twin boys that the girls have known since they were babes, so that was a pleasant surprise. She's seperating her boys. We had to turn in a letter stating if we'd like to keep our twins together or apart. So, while in the office I turn in my paper stating I'd like to keep the girls together. The woman in the office, who has rubbed me the wrong way before when I phoned the school, told me they may or may not accept my request. I told her, "well, luckily it's a Florida law, and I was asked to let them know what I choose to do.". She said, "Well, I have twins too, and when they started school they weren't allowed in the same class and it worked out for the best". Then, she asked me what kind of twins I have (after putting all of Mikayla and Brianna's paperwork in their respective files, and saying their names about 10 times. I said, girls. She said, "Oh I have boy/girl". I said, "Did your son tend to rely on your daughter a lot?" She looked stunned and said, Yes. I told her that I've done a lot of research and it's best to seperate girl/boy twins because of this. However, the same is not to be said about girls. She said oh, okay, well thank you. Ugh. Seriously, if she had just said thank you to the letter instead of telling me they might not care about it we would have saved ourselves that whole conversation. I usually am good about keeping my mouth shut with people I don't know well, but when it's about something I've worried about since my girls were like 2 years old then I obviously am going to have a hard time staying silent. Other than that interaction, everything went great at their new school!

The girls' Pre-K graduation is on Friday! Look forward to a post then and pictures!!
