Sickness and God's Love

This week has been hard. Joshua got sick on Tuesday. I have tried not to complain because it's rare when my littles get sick, but man when they get sick it's rough. I brought him to the dr. on Tuesday because he had a high fever and was complaining his mouth hurt. He tested negative for the flu, and strep...so it's a virus that just has to run it's course. Right when he's turned a corner and gets better he has infected his sisters. Thank goodness today and not yesterday when they had their kindergarten concert :). This morning, Brianna woke up complaining her hands and feet felt like they were burning. It was so strange. She didn't have a fever though, and insisted on going to school. So, I told her to call me if she felt sick at all. No call. The girls both got in the car after school, and looked MISERABLE. I took their temperature as soon as we got home, and Brianna was 102.9 and Mikayla was 104!! Off the Dr. we went. They also tested negative for flu and strep and Dr. believes they have the same virus as Joshua. So, lots of cuddles, and chicken noodle soup, and hoping for a fast recovery! It's the beginning of their spring break and we have lots planned...hopefully an uneventful weekend will help their bodies to fight off this virus!

Today, while cuddled up on the couch I read them, What Is God Like? By Beverly Lewis. Anna sent this book when Joshua got Baptised. I sometimes think of things and think of the bigger picture. Like Anna sending this book to my 2 month old...like maybe God nudging her to send it since He knew one day my children would need a book like this since their beloved Aunt would be with Him. For instance, I gave Anna a book about our 18 years of memories for her 30th birthday. I had bought it a year earlier at Hallmark as a book to collect things and have it be from Brianna about her memories with her Godmother once Brianna was grown. Instead, I felt a nudge to fill it up with things I love about Anna and give it to her that last time I saw her. Strange, and I totally think looking back that was a God thing.

There was a verse listed in the book that spoke to me:
"The mountains might shake. The hills might be removed. But my faithful love for you will never be shaken" Isaiah 54:10
I think God wants it to be reversed too...My world was shaken when Anna was removed from her life on earth, but my faithful love for the Lord won't be shaken. I'm so grateful for the faith Anna had, and showed others, and I pray that everyone I love will grow to have that faith. I pray hard that my children have a strong bond with the Lord and get to enjoy the riches of heaven that Anna is enjoying right now.
