16 months

Joshua's 16 months old today. Seriously, every 6th of the month, I ask myself how time is going by so quickly. Fr. Joe asked me after mass, today, if he was 18 mo. Ugh. Too too close to 1.5 years old!

He's doing a lot of fun things. He's walking! Definitely not his preferred method of getting around yet, though. He's SO fast crawling, that he still prefers that, and his balance still isn't great...so he'll take some steps and then on his bottom he goes. He's SO proud of himself though when he walks from Mommy to Daddy or vice versa. It's so fun.

He is saying sisi for his sisters now, and I love it! It's so sweet. He signs so much more than the girls did. I only taught the girls how to sign more when they were really young, because they could verbally tell me so much that I didn't need them to sign. Joshua though needed to be able to communicate with me more so I've taught him more signs. He was throwing every thing off his tray when he was done eating to indicate he was done...ugh. So, since he's learned the sign for all done he's SO much better at doing the sign and then I take away his food. Now instead of him grunting for what he wants I'll ask him what do you say, and he'll sign please-while also saying thank you. Haha!! Smart boy-let's get all the manners done in one swoop.

He's a very social boy. My girls tend to be shy, and Joshua gets so excited when he's around people. I love seeing his little personality develop. He's still obsessed with Mickey. He loves dogs (usually from a distance-but if he sees one in a book he goes on and on and on about it). He loves music and when I say, "shake it baby, shake it" he bops all over!

We had a conference with the girls' teachers and got their assessment. They did SO SO well. The teacher's were very impressed by how they knew all their letters-upper and lower case, numbers, letter sounds, could rhyme words, had great fine motor and gross motor skills. The only thing they put to work on was clean up after centers....Definitely something I'm constantly on them about at home! The teacher's did say they were competitive with each other in class, but that they don't think it'll be a problem having them together in kindergarten. It was a really great conference. We are so proud of our girls. I'm also so glad the teacher's really knew the girls as individuals. They could see that Brianna was the leader of the two. They could tell us things about just Mikayla or just Brianna. I've been so happy with this pre-school. Their Pre-K graduation pictures are coming up at the end of the month. SO not ready for that!
