Pets

We went to North Carolina for Anna's birthday last weekend. She had a petting zoo come, and the kids loved it-despite being exhausted from our long drive up there. Fox, chinchilla, kinkajou, macaw, monkey, giant rabbit, singing dog, opossom, and snake were all there on display, and we got to be hands on with all the animals except for the monkey. Monkeys aren't safe animals, and are basically like raising a 2 year old for the rest of your life-No thank you! Nelson still thinks a pet monkey would be pretty great ;). It was great visiting with Anna and Shawn and enjoying our mini trip away.

The day we got home we decided to go to the Florida State Fair since Nelson was off work. I am a born and raised Floridian and had never been before. It was a lot of fun. The girls really wanted to try the game where you could win a fish. After $4 and 24 balls they won a goldfish! They named her Goldie. Their first pet! I am proud to say that after 3 days Goldie is still alive ;).

After a really fun weekend I got into a funk after returning to normal life. I love all of us being together, and soaking up everything life has to offer. I am excited to say that the extreme happiness I'm lacking at the moment will be back for sure on Saturday. We are going to Disney! My baby is losing his mullet, and trading it in for a big boy haircut! I'm actually excited about this, and not so sad about him losing his baby hair. I could totally change my tune Saturday, but for now I'm just feeling excited. He definitely has changed from a babe to a toddler lately, and is ready for a big boy haircut!
